The Government of India to organize the annual National Teacher’s Awards on the 5th of September and sets out to honor all the best teachers from across the nation.

On the 5th of September, the Ministry of Education is set out to organize their annual function of National Teacher’s Awards honoring the legacy of the continuation of the scheme that was started in the year 1958 to honor all the greatest teachers that had very well maintained their roles as teachers and mentors to the students of various schools across the nation.

This year around a total of 48 teachers are set to be honored with an award as well as the showcase of their short documentaries stating their unique teaching styles and positive effects in students’ capabilities. The teachers have been selected through a 3 stage selection process where teachers are selected at districts state and nationals levels by the Department of School Education and literacy.

The selected teachers represent all 27 states, 7 union territories and the 6 educational organizations that are under the central government schemes. The totals amount of teachers consist of 26 men and 22 women teachers who made commendable contributions to school education standards and the holistic development of students be it in studies or in extra curricular activities.

The award is given out to the talented teachers in the special occasion of Teacher’s Day that is celebrated through out the nation celebrating the birth date of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned teacher, philosopher and the 2nd President of India. On this occasion the award is given by the President of India, the head of the nation of India. This time the current president Smt. Droupadi Murmu. The event is significant to India as it celebrates the backbone of the nation that is knowledge, students and their beloved teachers; it also sets an example for other teachers to work towards their goals and stand as a inspirational mentor to students who will write the future of India.
