India in total won 5 gold medals, 10 silver and 4 bronze in U-19 and U-23 matches.

On 15th of July, the finals of Asian U-19 and U-23 boxing championship took place in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this championship, India had given an amazing performance in the women’s section and brought immense glory and honor to the nation. In the U-19 championship, Chandrika Bhoresh Pujari gave a significant winning streak against Uzbekistan’s Nazokat and another Indian boxer Prachi won against Indonesia’s boxer Dira Artika; both the boxers scoring gold medals at the matches.

In the U-23 category, Nisha led the match against Japan’s Koiin Kokufu and won a gold medal. Other boxers too won gold medals in different categories. While other women boxers too brought great honor by putting up a great fight and scoring a total of 10 silver medals. Boxers such as Nikita Chand, Muskan and Kajal won silver medals in their respective categories.

The series of championship in the field of boxing has shown the great capability and strength of Indian boxers especially women boxers in their respective fields. This showcases the focus of India in various fields of sports and the capability of Indian boxers to achieve clear-cut victory.

Although, in previous decades the focus of Indian boxing board had not been so much on boxing, the times are changing and the youth is being trained to represent their efforts, experience, knowledge and country in the global level. These matches and winnings show the capability of Indian youth in any field either be of studies as well as physical sports. The sheer amount of winnings show the efforts the boxers had put up, the training they went through and how they were finally able to achieve the sweet taste of victory which they very much deserved.
