Monsoon season humidity assists H1N1 flu incidence 6X higher

Hello, how are you all, hope you are well. In today's blog we will know about Monsoon season humidity assists H1N1 flu incidence 6X higher, August 30, 2026

Monsoon breezes increase probability of H1N1 virulence, officials say as Delhi reports 1300 total cases high-risk groups told to stay prepared.

Health department reports show more than 1,340 confirmed cases to date this season, up from only 229 cases during this period last year. The high humidity, frequent cold snaps and spending long hours indoors in air-conditioned, poorly ventilated spaces lead to airborne transmission of viruses in the most conducive way would possibly result into many diseases.

THIS IS PRECEDED BY HIGH FEVER, SEVERE DISCOMFORT IN BODILY AWAKENING, DRY COUGH, SORE THROAT AND SEVERE FATIGUE. A HEALTHY PERSON MAY RECOVER FROM IT IN FIVE TO SEVEN DAYS. PREGNANT WOMEN, OLD MEN, CHILDREN UNDER FIVE YEARS AND PEOPLE WHO HAVE DISORDERS LIKE DIABETES, HYPERTENSION, ASTHMA, AND THOSE WHO TAKE MENTIONS ARE MORE VULNERABLE TO SEVERES OF IT.

H1N1 overlaps clinically with other common monsoon viruses especially dengue. Doctors are urging citizens not to diagnose themselves or a rash fever nor to self-administer antibiotics indiscriminately, that are of no benefit to viral diseases and hasten the emergence of antimicrobial resistance. The health authorities in Delhi have allocated isolation beds in government hospitals, and increased screening facilities. Prevention appears to be the best.

Epidemiologists recommend taking the annual quadrivalent flu shot, maintaining hand hygiene, wearing protective masks when travelling in Delhi Metro, and self-isolating at the first sign of symptoms to prevent further community spread.
