Red lines rewritten for India by NSA Ajit Doval - revealed that "no limit" mandate was given to disintegrate terror networks wherever they hid.
NEW DELHI, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval confirmed two critical aspects of the execution of Operation Sindoor and how it was decided at the highest level. During a recently aired docuseries we heard from the NSA his account of what he received during top-level briefings about the terror attack in Pahalgam. He confirmed that a clear and absolute mandate came from the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was a high ground turning point in India’s counter-terrorism efforts.
Recapping emergency Security Council meetings that were convened after the Prime Minister curtailed an official visit abroad, Doval said the instructions given to the armed forces were crystal clear. There were no operational constraints neither on distance nor geography nor risk and the Prime Minister had directed defense leadership to go to the extent of hunting the perpetrators wherever they are hiding.
It was a successful 88-hr precision strike, one which was carried out seamlessly by a tri-service effort, driven by instant intelligence and cutting edge strike technology. Intelligence cells in the three services worked around the clock to locate terror launch pads, and this operation was a measure of an instant, precision and high impact retaliation.
Doval said the tactical success came as a result of complete political-military synergy. In addressing the larger strategic implications, the NSA has underscored that India's historic restraint will never be confused with weakness. By Operation Sindoor, India has codified a new security doctrine which lays down zero tolerance for cross-border terrorism and direct accountability for any hostile actor whom she targeted Indian nationals.
