India has launched new set of rules and a single window platform; these rules are undertaken to reach global markets and also boost the Indian domestic industries and their reach in space ecosystems and market.

The government of India has decided to undertake new rules regarding the safeguarding of the interests of Indian domestic industries in the global satellite communications market. This new set of rules regulate the foreign industries’ influence and control in the growing market of Indian SatCom. This makes sure that no single power gains the whole control and the domestic industries get a proper chance and platform to do their bid.

The decision is also partaken by the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization center (IN-SPACe) and Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and functions to secure markets of any issues. The system has also been changed from the previous applying an re-applying through the DoT, IN-SPACe, MHA and TRAI to a single window from where brands could apply to participate in the formation of the satellite communication markets clearing the hours long and tedious process to a simple application. The field revolves around the proposal being more on the side of Indian industries through Non-Geostationary Orbit rules.

The SatCom market is very crucial for India as the market is very essential as hardware, infrastructure, wireless, data managing, broadcasting dealing with Satellite communications deals with using Earth’s orbit and ensures economic success for India; the new approach not only helps India in internal security but also helps in disaster management as well as commercial boost.

It is also an attempt to make the process easier and the government requires global brands such as Starlink, One web, Viasat, Immarsat, SES, Intelsat and Eutelsat to coordinate with Indian traditional companies in an attempt to boost India’s reach. India also is taking crucial steps to ensure that the foreign influence on the market does not increase by any means so that domestic industries have a fair and just chance. This step will broaden the economic and commercial horizons of the Indian economy especially in the Satellite communications field.
